Mechanism of action of (E,E)-bisantrene

Magipics has created an animation for Racura Oncology, a clinical biopharmaceutical company with a mission to silence cancer.

The animation describes a novel therapeutic approach to target MYC-driven cancers using Racura Oncology’s (E,E)-bisantrene drug. The drug has been shown in preclinical studies to bind and stabilise a normally unstable G-quadruplex. By locking this structure in place, (E,E)-bisantrene is believed to silence MYC transcription, evidenced through suppressed MYC mRNA levels in preclinical studies.

This mechanism represents a novel therapeutic approach being investigated by Racura Oncology to target MYC-driven cancers, with the potential to improve patient outcomes.

Clarity comic book

Magipics has created a comic book, aimed at children under 12 years with neuroblastoma cancer, for Clarity Pharmaceuticals. The book explains a cancer treatment product and the trial in a friendly reassuring manner.

Magipics created the finished artwork (including all character design etc.) based on a rough concept supplied by the client.

64/67Cu-SAR-bisPSMA: A Next-Generation PSMA Theranostic

Magipics has continued producing animations and illustrations for Clarity Pharmaceuticals. The most recent one describes SAR-bisPSMA, a next generation, highly targeted theranostic radiopharmaceutical. It has increased specificity and in-vivo stability, and is being developed for diagnosing, staging and subsequently treating cancers that express Prostate Specific Membrane Antigen (PSMA).

Prostate cancer is the second most common cancer in men and the 5th leading cause of death in men worldwide. Early detection and better treatment options for prostate cancer are therefore of vital importance.

PSMA Theranostics

Magipics has produced a biomedical animation for the PeterMacCallum Cancer Centre. The animation describes the principles of PSMA Theranostics or ProsTIC, a treatment method for Prostate cancer. Briefly, this method involves targeting Prostate Specific Membrane Antigen (PSMA), a unique marker found on the surface of prostate cancer cells. Utilizing radioactive particles conjugated to a molecule that binds only to PSMA, the cancer cells can be detected and destroyed.
