Magipics has produced an illustration for Trinity College, Dublin University. It depicts direct laser writing, using 2 photon polymerisation, of self-assembled nanocomposite materials.

Magipics is currently creating illustrations and animations for Trinity College on this and related topics.

Using fabrication parameters, Teodora Faraone, Colm Delaney, and co-workers are able to finely tune the interparticle spacing. They exploit this to generate wide gamut reflected color in the aqueous state and employ it in stimuli-responsive polymers for responsive color changes.

The illustration was accepted as cover picture in the “Advanced Materials” journal, volume 37, issue 43. Advanced Materials is one of the world’s most prestigious journals, and is the home of choice for best-in-class materials science for more than 30 years.
