Magipics has created an animation for Vitradel Pty Ltd to illustrate the back-of-eye delivery of a drug. The technology allows for delivery of small organic drugs as well as large biological molecules.
The product, comprising a blend of monomers, is administered as a liquid. Following injection into the eye in situ polymerisation occurs, forming linkages that allow for a tunable drug release. The remaining molecular scaffold undergoes rapid biodegradation after the drug is released, leaving no residue.
